Janani Voluntary Blood Bank is run on a “ Not for Profit” but self sustaining basis. There is a service charge levied on blood that is distributed. This service charge is essential for meeting cost of raw material, testing, processing, providing for depreciation and administration expenses. This will also give. Meanwhile to take care of people from poor economic status, 30 % of blood which go to Government hospitals are free. Almost all serious health issues use blood donated by people like you and me to save lives. Blood that is donated last a little more than 40 days. Then it must be disposed of. That means we need to constantly replenish the blood so it is there when someone needs it. Holidays are usually when blood is in short supply. Maybe next holiday season that could be your gift to a needing person. Your blood could save a baby, a child, a mother, a father, a grandfather, a grandmother. They cannot make blood, it is a gift we all have inside of us to give to those who are injured, sick, or in need. .


It is to state that, to alleviate the hardship meted out to the poor and the deprived, the Janani Organisation has been providing yeomen service ever since its inception, charitable blood donations and transfusion services to the needy patients on requisition from different hospitals on admission of such emergency cases, as a philanthropic and social service Endeavour. Also, the organization has been conducting Health check-up camps, HIV/AIDS awareness program, Aged care program, Women and child welfare program, Child development program and Awareness camps on Community based Rehabilitation services, provided mid day meals and distributed test books from 1st class to 10th standard students, and conducted free Blood donation camps, supply of safe and efficient blood to the needy patients and Polyeythemia cases from Janani Voluntary Blood Bank.


PROCUREMENT OF BLOOD: The organization is conducting frequent Blood donation camps with proper permission at various places. All the blood donors will be registered with all particulars and blood will be collected if permitted after testing in all angles, under the supervision of the efficient doctors. This camp will be organized by a special guest of eminent persons, and emphasized the importance of blood donation. The donors will be suitably refreshed after blood collected. If any donor identified, who is suffering with AIDS will be given counseling and their cases Will be referred to the nearest Government Hospitals.mb .

DISTRIBUTION OF BLOOD: Out of total blood units collected at various camps, 30% units of blood procured will be given to Sangareddy Government Hospital of Medak District with free of cost, for onward distribution to the Poor people. Another 40% of Blood Units will be distributed to the family friends of Blood donors on 'requisition, and persons belonging to poor sector who are having below poverty Line. The balance of 30% of blood units will be distributed to the needy patients of nearest hospitals by collecting nominal screening charges as prescribed by the Government from time to time. The organization requires 600 Units of blood every month to cater the needs of needy and poor patients. .
